Telefax has the expertise to identify and define the requirement and to develop a bespoke solution, either in house or using third party software. As an example a recent display requirement was for a broker identification number to flash on a DataWall display when there was an unanswered call to a broker at a major London exchange. The telephone system provided a low voltage signal when an unanswered call was waiting so Telefax sourced an interface to detect these signals and wrote bespoke software to interface to a standard IMS display system and flash the broker number associated with each circuit on the new DataWall display system. Another requirement was to display a symbol associated with a commodity on an LCD display and to sound a bell at predetermined times as trading on that particular commodity commenced. Telefax discussed the requirement with associated suppliers and supplied a system by PlasmaNet tailored to meet the specific requirement. Telefax have also developed interfaces to clients own data sources
or to those of third party data vendors where this was required. The
usual data route into IMS is via DDE from a DDE server application
like Microsoft Excel, sometimes however a direct interface is required
and Telefax can develop bespoke interfaces to the IMS display system
to meet these needs.
